At that meeting the Computer Aided Engineering Implementers Forum (CAE-IF) successfully completed its benchmark of ISO 10303-209 (STEP AP 209) Finite Element Method (FEM) input data. This means that the testing and results from CAxMan’s analysis for Additive Manufacturing are being successfully embedded in international standards. These enable engineering collaboration and this supports advanced and flexible design and manufacturing in line with initiatives such as Industry 4.0.

The first NUGEAR parts of the CAxMan project were 3D printed in MS1 Maraging steel and are now ready for testing! Additive Manufacturing allowed a 25% manufacturing time reduction compared to standard machining, says Stefano Ellero.
One of CAxMan\'s goals is to be able to control the results of the printed parts as well as the finished part. A dedicated interface with metrology has been implemented in CAD to transfer not only the shapes but also all the dimensional constraints with their tolerances, allowing the analysis of the results also in CAD.
